Penny O'Shea

I established my business in summer 2020. This followed 23 years working for Trevor Roberts Associates Ltd (TRA), a leading provider of training and procedural support for public sector planning. From 2004, I was the company's Principal Director, managing a small administrative team and a network of around 25 Associates. Setting up POC has given me the opportunity to retain my connection with town planning while pursuing a second career in proofreading.

Background and experience

  • honours degree in business studies
  • early career focused on client liaison and administration
  • successfully managed a well-respected small business for 16 years
  • over two decades' experience of working with local planning authorities
  • established TRA's independent planning examination service
  • managed the examination of 60+ neighbourhood plans and 11 CIL schedules
  • years of on-the-job editing and proofreading practice
  • completed certificated courses on proofreading and editorial skills (2021-2023).
