Before a neighbourhood plan can become a formal part of the statutory development plan, it must undergo an independent examination. This is to ensure that it meets the 'basic conditions' for neighbourhood plans set out in legislation.
POC has a small, but growing, team of independent examiners. All are chartered town planners with a range of backgrounds and experience, and are based in different parts of the country.
Each examiner has the necessary skills and experience to competently undertake the examination of neighbourhood plans. Beyond their in-depth understanding of the planning system, the team's experience includes working with, and providing support for, community groups; undertaking examinations of development plans; and determining planning appeals.
Coordination of each examination is handled by Penny O'Shea. The work of our examiners is monitored to maintain high standards of quality and professionalism.
Our charges are based on a day rate. The day rate:

Whether you have a specific plan requiring examination, or just want to find out about likely costs and how to request a quotation, we'd be pleased to hear from you. All enquiries are entirely without obligation.
